Description
SUITABLE FOR FIXING TO MASONRY WALLS AND INTO WOODEN STUDS IN CAVITY WALLS. (NOT FOR STEEL STUDS)
Bore a 13mm clearance hole into the shelf for the rod. 7mm pilot hole for fitting into timber studs.
Pair of very popular unique adjustable individual solid steel floating shelf brackets for wooden stud fixing with up to 25KG weight capacity per pair, when fixed correctly into solid wood wall studs or good condition brick or block type wall, using the supplied masonry wall plugs, with the floatfix brackets spaced at a maximum of 600mm or stud centres, fitting a shelf of 200 to 250mm in depth. Masonry wall plug supplied is 10mm in diameter, drill a 9-10mm hole in your masonry wall, noting the plug should be a nice tight fit into the masonry wall. Ensure the hole is drilled deep enough so the threaded portion can be screwed tightly into the wall plug without hitting the end of the drilled hole. Deeper shelves can be fitted using these brackets but weight capacity will be lower as shelf depth is increased.
The solid steel “in shelf” part support rod is in total 160 mm long x 12mm diameter, plus 70mm of the in wall portion of the bracket rod length is threaded. The threaded portion is set off centre to the rod centre. This allows fine adjustment in every plane of 360 degrees by rotating the fitted bracket with your adjustable or open ended spanner to achieve exact spacing and a level floating shelf. (machined flats are provided on the rod to allow spanner location and adjustment). Suitable for your custom manufactured floating shelves of minimum thickness 18mm (1.8cm) and above, and with a depth of up to 250mm.(Brackets can be used to fit deeper shelves but weight capacity decreases as shelf depth increases, use extra brackets which can add extra weight capacity) Use a minimum of 2 brackets per shelf, but we recommend at least one bracket is used every 500mm spacing in a solid/brick type wall, or into every stud in a cavity type wall. Ideally ensure brackets are fitted into the centre of the wooden stud. Not suitable to fit to steel studs or directly into drywall (gyprock) type wall sheet.
